In the name of God, Amen. I, Walter Boyd GILLIAM of the town of Petersburg being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with.
I give and bequeath the same in manner following, that is to say,
1st, I . . . [blank]
2ndly, I give to Easter Tinsley my Lot and houses lying on Walnut Street, in the town of Petersburg, during the term of her natural life and after her decease, I give the same Lot and Houses to her two children Rebecca Nicholas and Jane Henry and their heirs forever.
3rdly I give Easter Tinsley the following Negro slaves, to wit, Pompey, Thomas, Joe, George, Mingo and his wife Sukey, Lucy Fox, Priscilla and Jenny, Albo, Aggy Orange, and her children Betsey, Mary, Sally, Cicily, George W., Walter B, and Eliza Jane, to her for the term of her life and after her decease to her two children Rebecca N, and Jane H. forever
4thly I give to Rebecca Nicholas daughter of Easter Tinsley the following Negro slaves, to wit, Peggy, Franky, William, Lucy Stewart, and little Jack, to her forever
5thly give to Jane Henry, daughter of Easter Tinsley, the following Negro slaves to wit, Aggy Jones and her child Mary, Arthur, Syphax, and Betsey, daughter of Sukey to her forever
6thly It is my will and desire that my land lying in the county of Goochland be sold, and after the payment of my just debts, etc, the remainder of the monies arising therefrom be divided equally among Easter Tinsley and her two children Rebecca N. and Jane H. It is my will and desire that my three Lots of land at Broadway in the County of Prince George be sold and the monies arising therefrom be equally divided between Rebecca N., & Jane H. daughters of Easter
7thly I give Robert GILLIAM Junr a specific legacy of £50
Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint Robert GILLIAM Junr, Executor of this my last will & Testament hereby revoking all other wills or testament by me heretofore made.
I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th day of May in the year 1821.

A codicil
I, Walter Boyd GILLIAM do hereby revoke the first section of my last will & Testament directing my perishable estate to be sold and do hereby give the same to Easter Tinsley, including all my household and kitchen furniture, horses, cattle, etc.

At a Hustings court held for the town of Petersburg at the courthouse of the said town, Thursday the 21st day of June 1821.
The last Will and Testament of Walter Boyd GILLIAM decd, and the codicil thereunto annexed were proved in open Court by the oaths of Roberts B. Crossley and Thomas Moss two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and
On the motion of Robert GILLIAM the executor named in the said will (who in open Court refused to undertake the executor thereof) the estate of the said Walter Boyd GILLIAM & with his will annexed is committed to Roger Mallory, Sergeant of this town to be administered according to law.

NB in the original will there was wrote what I suppose is meant by the codicil in the first section, which is erased out with the pen & is not copied in the record.
